Hey church!

Last Sunday we started our current series on Lent. Lent is the forty-day period before Easter. It is a time to revisiting some ancient church practices to renew our faith and rekindle our relationship with Jesus Christ. Historically, Lent has been a time for prayer of repentance, fasting, and giving to the poor (aka almsgiving)[1]

So this Lent season we want to renew our faith and rekindle our relationship in the spirit of Less is More. Doing less and gaining more. Less complexity and more simplicity. Learning and doing ‘what is important.” Learning to be less and let God be more. Taking less room and letting God take more room.

Last week we talked about fasting. This week we talk about almsgiving. This is not another sermon on tithes and offering but learning to have less in our hands and let the Kingdom and the poor have more.
