The saying “actions speak louder than words” will always be true when we talk about the discipleship of Christians. If you want to be recognized as a follower of Christ it does not suffice to shout to the world “I believe in Jesus and I follow him”. If you want to be recognized as a follower of Christ it does not suffice to wear a Cross. If you want people to believe in Christ and his Gospel you need to do more than simply shout to people on the street “Jesus is Lord and Saviour, repent and believe in his Gospel.” Don’t get me wrong, these words to call people to repentance are true and powerful but only if they come with power.
If discipleship means knowing how to be a disciple yourself first and making disciples of others second then what does it mean to have our actions speak louder than words? How should we let God transform our lives as a powerful display for the sake of His Gospel?
